Frequently Asked Questions

Everything you need to know about joining our community

  • Absolutely! All skill levels are truly welcome, including complete beginners. We have a wide range of skill levels at our events, and many of our regulars are happy to help you learn!

  • Not at all — boards are meant to be shared! The club provides a handful of boards, but if you have your own, please bring it. If you don't, you may occasionally need to wait for a board, but you'll still be able to play multiple games throughout the evening without issue.

  • It's a casual, rotation-style setup: Show up, find an open board, and ask for a game! It's normal to rotate between opponents and socialize at your own pace. Games are informal, and you're free to jump in and out as you like.

  • Yes, really! There's no entry fee to attend our weekly events. However, since we're using a reserved space, we kindly ask that you support our host venues by purchasing food or drinks.

  • It's a drop-in format, so feel free to arrive and leave whenever you like! Registration isn't required; it simply helps us estimate turnout. If you grab food or drinks, just remember to settle your tab before you leave!

  • Yes, in fact most people do! Just find an open board and ask someone for a game. Everyone is open to playing with new opponents, and if you're ever unsure, one of the hosts can help you find a game.
